What Types of Cancer We Treat?

Prevention, Recovery and Treatment is on the same path

Everybody has cancer. It is a matter of mathematics as to when the medical world recognizes an individual and brands them as “Cancer Patients”

Understanding Cancer – Basically it is not a disease that descends upon the patient in one day, or builds up in a very short time, as to it’s cellular structure, cancer cells grow exponentially and require more than 5 years to become at least 1 billion in number, for it to become a diagnosable disease. Contrary to the common belief which has been imposed by conventional doctors, there is no requirement of starting a treatment the day after diagnosis, which is one of the reasons that cause high stress and fear in a newly diagnosed patient. Naturally, cancer takes a long time to develop and therefore it is going to be dealt with by some major changes in lifestyle, including diet, exercise routine, sleep and emotional elements like stress, relationships as well as environmental factors we are exposed to.

Types of Cancer we treat at SOL Integrative Wellness Centre

The most fundamental difference between each type of cancer is the location in which it starts….and it is the location that determines how quickly it can invade other tissues and organs. So, breast cancer can grow several centimeters and still be stage 1 or 2 whereas pancreatic cancer only has to grow 1 cm in order for it to be in another organ, hence stage 4.

The other issue with regards to different types of cancer that must be considered when treating is whether or not it is hormonally related. So, with breast, ovarian, uterine, fallopian tube and prostate cancer, hormone balancing and receptor blocking become necessary. However, when it is required that we block estrogen receptors, for example, we use natural substances which are not only safe but are actually more effective than synthetic, targeted therapies.

Based on these and many others characteristics regarding cancer, a unique treatment plan is developed for each patient. Furthermore, every week our entire clinical staff participates in a plan of care meeting where we evaluate what is working and what needs to be modified so that the plan for each patient continually evolves throughout their stay with us. We do not wait until the end of a proposed plan of care to determine what is and what is not effective. This is essential.

The SOL Cancer Treatment Programs are working well with all types of cancers due to the approach and the role of each aspect of the treatment. Apart from a few cancer types, all cancers are treated the same yet with a unique treatment plan regarding the diagnosis, stage, severity and individuals metabolism.
